Hello, My younger brother, aged 30 (born 1990), married a girl of the same age around January 2019. Later, we discovered that the girl had no interest in marriage and did not participate in any typical family activities, including sexual relations. Need to resolve Marriage Life issues.

Unveiling the Dilemma: Navigating Expectations and Realities in Marriage Life

Marriage life turning into disappointment

When we asked her opinion about the problem, she confessed that she was not interested in marriage life and her parents convinced her to get married. After the wedding, she led her normal single life, went to work, was independent, and behaved as just a housemate with my brother (They live separately).

When we asked her opinion about the problem, she confessed that she was not interested in marriage life and her parents convinced her to get married. After the wedding, she led her normal single life, went to work, was independent, and behaved as just a housemate with my brother (They live separately).

Somewhere around August 2019, our families gathered to discuss this issue and the girl's parents requested my brother to wait for another 6 months for her to change or show interest in the marriage. In addition, her parents took her to psychiatric counseling, asked her to resign from her job and be a housewife to spend more time as a family. This did not solve the problem and my brother did not force her out of her consent.

In due course, my brother lost his patience and installed a spy camera in her bathroom to watch her. The girl noticed this and promptly reported it to her parents. Now, the girl's family is demanding a divorce with a ransom to be paid to them for voyeurism. In fact, we are ready and happy for the divorce but worried about the charges on my brother and the ransom demanded by the girl's family. I would like to request a legal opinion on this case. There is no domestic violence here. Moreover, they lead a separate life with occasional visits by our family and the girl's family.

Questions:

1. My brother apologized for voyeurism, but the girl's family wants to punish him. What would be the legal charges on my brother for his act?

2. Both my brother and the girl would like to separate and file for a divorce. What are the legal proceedings and how long would it take?

3. Since the girl is not working now, Will it be required for my brother to support her living expenses after the divorce?

4. The girl's family and their supporters call my 63-year-old father, who's diabetic and had heart surgery. In fact, They ask him to come to their village with my brother to discuss and negotiate. Finally, I'm out of town/state and fear the girl's supporters might harm my family. Please advise.

Thank you in advance.
