Procedures to change Lawyers

I have 2 questions. What are the procedures to change lawyers? How complicated NRI Divorce is? I currently reside in the USA, my marriage was on 25th April 2018 and my wife came to the USA on 14th December 2018. My hometown is Coimbatore. My wife fought and left me in February 2020 and she is still in India right now, I previously talked with you in May 2020 and we spoke about the list of options I have. She did a lot of things like shouting late at night, trying to suicide, and all drama. As time went by, I went with one of my family friends\' lawyers and we first filed a “Restitution of Conjugal rights” case against my wife in May 2021. The case is still pending in court, we initially filed the case in Coimbatore and my wife requested the transfer and the case is now in Chengalpattu. What are the procedures to change lawyers? Complicated NRI Divorce

The case has been dragging on and I am not getting proper guidance on what to do next. In the meantime, last week my wife and I decided to talk with each other personally and decide on what to do next.

WhatsApp audio calls

I would like to clarify certain things and want to know what I should talk about and what I should not during this conversation as I am worried about recording such conversations, we are only doing WhatsApp audio calls and not video calls.
  1. Based on your instructions, I gathered all the video proof (I didn’t harm her, we did not get a dowry, she left from here, etc.) and I have that with me.
  2. I have some sympathy towards my wife and since there was a long gap between us, I think she might have realized her mistake and we can restart our life, but when I talk to her, I should not be giving hope. In fact, I want to decide based on what she says and what she responds to. So can I say, “let’s talk about and decide” given that I filled Conjugal rights (which means I am willing to live with her and she is not interested), will this have any impact if she records the conversation and produces court?

Popular Questions:

  1. Not sure if she is recording our conversation or not, but I am conscious and assuming that she is recording the conversation. So, what are the things I should avoid during this conversation which can impact me if she records? I really want to have an open conversation with her.
  2. We also thought of having a personal counsel because we feel we both won’t open up during court counseling, which is the current case in court.
  3. What are the possible options going forward I have if I am not satisfied with her reply and if I want to proceed to divorce? Moreover, Can I file a divorce based on the fact that I filed conjugal rights and she hasn’t responded?
