Regarding compensation for accident case

Please help me Regarding compensation for accident case. Hi Sir/Madam, My Sundaramuthy S ( age 27 as of today) from K K nagar, Chennai. On september 6, 2017 early morning 5.30 Am a person with swift car slept while driving and hit me. In this incident both my legs got severely injured (literally broken into pieces). Till now i have spent around 8 laks for medication ( i have bills). As a middle class family we cannot able to handle this, so we requested our lawyer to go for compromise. But he is saying very small amount only we get so we can run this case. But now he is saying Insurance companies has raised a case in court they will put agreement with victim as they will pay only interest for certain period of time and after completion of that period they will pay compensation (Is that true?). Really we do not know what to do. we have bills for 8 laks and without bill so many expenses till day. If possible can you suggest how much we will get because our Lawyer is not telling anything.
