V. Sundari asked 3 years ago Family issues: I am Sundari,56yrs old housewife. Living in Chennai with my husband and two daughters. I have three sisters and two brothers. My parents (father-86yrs mother-82yrs) were with me for the past three years. My 1st daughter got married recently. So I am financially weak now. When I approached my siblings regarding taking care of our parents, they refused. At last, I admitted them to an old age home where the monthly charges are 20,000 rupees.
Now my siblings are not ready to take care of our parents and my brothers are telling us that they can give only 1/6th of the home expenses. Now I want to know is it the duty of the son to take care of the parents completely? Or is it legal to give only 1/6th of the parent's expenses? Our Daughter and son both expected to spend an equal amount?
