I was married to one Priya Ganesan from Mylapore and our marriage lasted for 7 years or so in the US..My daughter Nikhita Ramakrishnan was born here and is a US Citizen by birth. In an unfortunate turn of events, in 2007, my then wife (Priya) filed for a divorce here in the states.
Fresh case for a Divorce and Child custody case
However after months of proceedings she did not get a favorable compensation and then one day, when I was on an official trip outside my home, proceeded to take all my belongings and my then 3 year old daughter and vanished only to be found later in Chennai India where filed a fresh case for a Divorce and Child custody case. She got the divorce, but I wanted to get full custody of the child since she is a US Citizen. However the courts did not allow Child custody case. but the US Consulate in Chennai was making periodic visits for a while. But eventually the Mom stopped everything, making Nikhita NOT know her real father...
Arbitration and proceedings
After arbitration and proceedings, I eventually lost my daughter to the Mom( which was very unfortunate)...Anyways we all continued to live our life and time has passed. Now after March 26 2022, Nikhita will be 18. I think it is time for her to know her real dad and also an option for her to come over here to the States for her future and higher studies etc. Imagine the life of an 18 year old when the whole world opens up and her Dad is willing to educate her and give her the best of everything...Now what are my options here?
